"Parents rarely let go of their children, so children let go of them. They move on. They move away. The moments that used to define them - a mother's approval, a father's nod - are covered by moments of their own accomplishments. It is not until much later, as the skin sags and the heart weakens, that children understand; their stories, and all their accomplishments, sit atop the stories of their mothers and fathers, stones upon stones, beneath the waters of their lives."
Beautiful, wasn't that? But very sadly more true than we think.
Visiting yhope was great, all the dunman people there are very warm and friendly and simply ooze the passion of Christ. The worship was very powerful and I could really feel God's prescence in the hall. Dinner was awesome, all the dunmanians were so nice to talk to and I had the opportunity to let in on so many amazing testimonials.
"If there are so many Christians in school and God can still choose specifically you to do the job, then He must see the potential in you."
I guess that makes sense. I haven't really been acting upon what God called me to do, but its not too late to start!
I read this horribly disturbing article in Reader's Digest about child prostitution, and the immorality and cruelty of it all really is enough to make anyone feel angry. In the Phillipines, this high ranking official gave a 14 year old waitress and her virginity to his son as a birthday gift. Honestly, anyone who can find the capacity within himself to hurt and abuse a defenseless, innocent young child really deserves death. Sadly, corruption in most of these "paedophile havens" prevents these heartless criminals from getting caught. Everyday, so many children are forced into prostitution because they are caught in the vicious cycle of poverty, and yet here we are, complaining about every little thing and expecting people to comply to our every whim and fancy. Reading about these children, I really thank God that I am healthy and have a wonderful living environment to live in, and suddenly many of my problems seem so small and insignificant compared to the pain these young ones suffer.
"God, why don't you go in there and rescue these kids?" I cant help but ask.
Sitting in my own niche of comfort, I can only fall on my knees and pray for these children, and you should too, because if there's one thing I knw about prayer its that it works.
On an ending note, watch what youre listening to! Most of the noise levels in our cities today are enough to cause hearing and health problems in minutes.
God bless
