Two friends were journeying through a desert, when one day they got into an argument and quarreled. One friend slapped the other.
The guy who got slapped bent down and wrote in the sand,
"My best friend hit me here."
They carried on with their journey, having made up with each other. Further on they reached an oasis, and the guy who had gotten slapped began trapped in thick mire, and was in danger of losing his life. His friend reached out his hand, and with all his might pulled him out and saved him.
The guy who was slapped and now got saved went to a nearby rock and there he carved,
"My best friend saved me here."
The other guy was confused at his friend's actions. He asked,
"When i hit you, you wrote it in the sand. Why is it that when I saved you, you carve it on rock?"
The man smiled and replied him,
"When someone hurts you, you should write it in the sand, where the wind will easily blow it away and it will be forgotten. When someone does good to you, you should carve it on rock, where no wind will be able to erase it, and it will be remembered forever."
Learn to leave your grudges written on sand, and your blessed memories, on rock.
If that isn't a learning lesson. (:
Went to watch (pow pow!) Transformers 2 today, with the neighbours. Darn, i can't believe the Straits Times gave it a measely half a star when its worth so much more i assure. Girls, watch it for the good action ultra cool robots. Boys, watch it for Megan Fox, whatever. And anyway, whats this about Megan Fox being a guy?! Sounds like a believable yet utterly insane rumour.
I think shes pretty!
After that we decided to head to Amanda's house to watch Night At The Museum 2. Two movies in a day, what can I say! NATM2 was pretty good too, not as much humour as the original but still makes you laugh at least. Its a good streak, I say, 2 good movies in a row.
Hazel's staying over, so I get the whole bedroom to myself, how nice.
I was thinking today and I realised just how difficult it can get to keep a friend.
Yup, keep a friend.
See I was thinking about AnnGie and the other goodfriends I had in 6/1, Megan, Vincent and Wenqi and all. Anngie was my best friend - aren't those supposed to last? I haven't seen her or talked to her in years. I suppose its my fault, never taking the initiative to check up on her. Then further back there's Siti (Amalina! Shes a cutie, so so nice. I still remember her face!), Hildy, what not, in the "I don't friend you!" and two seconds later "Lets go for recess together!" phase. But I suppose what makes it so hard is the fact that we move on - different schools, different classes, different lives. When one goes, another comes, like the Anzio friends that made early years in Dunman High so much easier and sprinkled with lots of laughter and joy, joy, joy.
Now I'm afraid to lose the anzio gang - I miss them yes i do, but there's hardly time to catch up with my newer friends, what more them. They aren't in any way less important, but there just doesn't seem to be time.
Or maybe there just isn't enough of me. There never is, is there?
Anyway I have to say I am extremely grateful for the friends I do have now, like Sher and the 4d girls, all my wonderful church buddies and the everlastingneverending Shiao. Whats a life without friends, anyway. (Like a world without flowers! hah.)
Anyway if youve survived the post thus far do take this one thing with you -
WATCH TRANSFORMERS 2!!!! gogogo!
